What the install actually looks like
We start by finding the cracks nobody mentioned.
First we make the slab ready, then the finish is the easy part. We turn up with the grinder and the extraction first, and the first hour is dust and noise rather than anything that looks like progress. Cushion-tolerant seamless build with grip.
Once the slab is open and clean we chase any cracks, fill them, and grind those flat. Then the primer goes down, and from that point the day is a sequence with cure windows in it rather than a job you can rush. Most houses are done inside a day, then 12 hours to foot traffic.
Kevin Garner set this up in 2021 for his family to carry on. That matters on a physical therapy clinic epoxy job because the person who decided the spec is the person holding the squeegee, so nothing gets lost between the quote and the floor.
Choosing somebody to do our Floors was a hard decision but I am so happy we picked ICM coating masters. The results are beautiful and The time and effort put into the work was amazing.Verified review
Other medical floors we coat
The slab decides the spec.
What we find under a physical therapy clinic epoxy job
A lot of the slabs we open up have been sealed at some point with an acrylic nobody remembers. It reads as clean concrete until the diamonds hit it and the surface loads up. That is a full mechanical removal, not a light scuff, and it changes the day.
Power troweled warehouse floors are the hardest substrate we deal with. The surface is dense, sealed by the process itself, and needs aggressive metal-bond diamonds before anything will stick.
The system we specify
Full flake broadcast means chip thrown to refusal, so the floor is a continuous layer of vinyl rather than a base coat with decoration on it. That is what gives the texture its grip and what stops the color wearing through.
Thickness is specified from the load, not from a brochure. A residential garage and a forklift aisle both get epoxy, and they are not the same floor.
Specified from the load, not a brochure.
Seamless is the whole specification
In a clinical room the floor is an infection control surface. Every joint, every grout line and every junction between floor and wall is somewhere organic material can sit where cleaning does not reach. A poured resin floor with coved skirting removes those places entirely, which is why it is specified for theatres and clean areas rather than tile.
The second requirement is chemical tolerance. Clinical cleaning is aggressive and continuous, and it is the cleaning rather than the foot traffic that destroys an unsuitable floor. We choose the resin against the disinfectant regime that is actually in use, and we detail the coving to the drains so the room can be washed rather than mopped.
One visit, one day, then 48 hours before the car goes back on.
What clinical work involves
Equipment, bare feet and spills.
What this floor has to put up with
Treatment tables, weights and bare feet. Cushion-tolerant seamless build with grip. That combination is what we specify against, and it is why a physical therapy clinic epoxy job is quoted from the room rather than from a rate card.
Safe for unsteady patients. Single day install is standard here. The waiting afterwards is just cure time.
Living with the floor afterwards
Do not use degreasers with high pH on a regular basis. They will dull a clear coat over time. Neutral cleaner and water handles almost everything.
Warehouse floors want a scrubber with the right pad, not the most aggressive one available.
The service area runs from Jones County out to the coast and along it. Gulfport, Biloxi, Ocean Springs and Pascagoula in Mississippi, Gulf Shores and Foley in Alabama, Covington and Slidell in Louisiana. See the areas we cover.
Questions we get asked
How long will my floor be out of use?
One day on site for most homes. Full cure for vehicles is 48 hours.
What happens to the slab before you coat it?
Cushion-tolerant seamless build with grip. A coating is only as good as the grind under it.
Will it stand up to the traffic here?
Treatment tables, weights and bare feet. We specify the build thickness against the actual use, not a standard sheet.
Do you come out to the coast?
We cover south Mississippi, the coast, coastal Alabama and St. Tammany Parish, roughly a hundred miles out from Laurel.
Do you use subcontractors?
Family run out of Laurel since 2021, Duraflex certified.
Can I see the color before deciding?
Yes. We bring the chip deck out and you pick the blend against your own light and your own walls. Colors read differently under LED, under a skylight and under a garage door that is half open, so choosing off a photograph is how people end up disappointed.
Is an old slab a problem?
Basement and below-grade slabs are damp by default. A coating that works in a garage will not necessarily hold down there, so those rooms get a system chosen for moisture rather than for looks.
How do I look after it?
Sunlight through a garage door will fade a cheap floor unevenly along the door line. UV-stable topcoats exist precisely for that.
Why not just use floor paint?
We install Duraflex systems. The certification matters less than what it means in practice, which is that the product data is real, the cure windows are tested, and there is a manufacturer standing behind the spec rather than a generic resin bought on price.
