Coffee Shop Epoxy that survives the room
Constant small spills behind the bar. We are in and out in a day on most garages, then the floor cures.
No grout to scrub behind the machine.
What we actually install
Seamless and slip-rated where staff stand.
Good floors are decided during prep, not during the pour. Tight staff areas, all-day footfall.

Most jobs need one day of our time and none of yours.
What the install actually looks like
First we make the slab ready, then the finish is the easy part.
Concrete varies street to street around here, so we check. We turn up with the grinder and the extraction first, and the first hour is dust and noise rather than anything that looks like progress. Seamless and slip-rated where staff stand.
Once the slab is open and clean we chase any cracks, fill them, and grind those flat. Then the primer goes down, and from that point the day is a sequence with cure windows in it rather than a job you can rush. One day down for most homes. Commercial work is phased to your hours.
Family run out of Laurel since 2021, Duraflex certified. That matters on a coffee shop epoxy job because the person who decided the spec is the person holding the squeegee, so nothing gets lost between the quote and the floor.
Choosing somebody to do our Floors was a hard decision but I am so happy we picked ICM coating masters. The results are beautiful and The time and effort put into the work was amazing.Verified review
Other retail floors we coat
The slab decides the spec.
What we find under a coffee shop epoxy job
A slab that has been acid etched instead of ground has an inconsistent profile. Some areas take the coating and some do not, and you cannot tell which until it fails. We grind regardless of what was done before.
Older residential slabs in Jones County often have a soft top layer from being finished too wet. It looks solid and crumbles under a grinder. If we find that, the fix is grinding past it to sound concrete rather than coating over a layer that is already failing.
The system we specify
Moisture-tolerant primers exist for a reason and cost more for a reason. On a damp slab they are the difference between a floor and a warranty claim.
Everything we install is a system that has been tested as a system. That is the practical value of working to a manufacturer spec instead of improvising.
Specified from the load, not a brochure.
A retail floor is doing two jobs at once
It has to survive the traffic and it has to look like part of the fit-out. Those pull in opposite directions. The most durable finishes are textured and dark, and the finishes that photograph well are smooth and bright. Where a floor lands between those is a decision worth making deliberately rather than by default.
The practical constraint in retail is almost always time. You cannot close for a week. That means phasing the work, or working nights, or using a fast-cure system that is walkable before you open. All three are possible and they cost differently, so it is worth saying up front which one matters most to you.
Single day turnaround on typical residential slabs.
What we plan around
Constant small spills behind the bar.
What this floor has to put up with
Tight staff areas, all-day footfall. Seamless and slip-rated where staff stand. That combination is what we specify against, and it is why a coffee shop epoxy job is quoted from the room rather than from a rate card.
No grout to scrub behind the machine. One day install, 12 hours to walk, 48 to drive.
Living with the floor afterwards
Pressure washing exterior coated concrete is fine at sensible pressure. Holding a turbo nozzle in one place is not.
Snow and road salt tracked in should be rinsed off rather than left to dry. Salt is more aggressive to the concrete than to the coating.
We work out of Laurel and cover roughly a hundred miles in every direction. That takes in Jones County, Rankin, Simpson and Lamar to the north and west, the whole Mississippi coast from Bay St. Louis through Biloxi to Pascagoula, across into Baldwin and Mobile County in Alabama, and west to St. Tammany Parish. See the areas we cover.
Questions we get asked
How long before we can use the room again?
We are in and out in a day on most garages, then the floor cures.
How much of the job is preparation?
Seamless and slip-rated where staff stand. We start by finding the cracks nobody mentioned.
How durable is it in practice?
Tight staff areas, all-day footfall. We specify the build thickness against the actual use, not a standard sheet.
Are you working in Alabama and Louisiana too?
We cover south Mississippi, the coast, coastal Alabama and St. Tammany Parish, roughly a hundred miles out from Laurel.
Who runs the job?
Kevin started ICM in 2021. The team that keeps it going is Aaron Garner, Kyler Welch and Averie Garner.
Can I see the color before deciding?
Yes. We bring the chip deck out and you pick the blend against your own light and your own walls. Colors read differently under LED, under a skylight and under a garage door that is half open, so choosing off a photograph is how people end up disappointed.
What if there is already a coating on it?
Some floors do not need coating at all. If the slab is sound and the use is light, polishing or sealing the concrete itself is cheaper and lasts longer. We will say so.
What should I avoid doing to it?
The honest maintenance answer is that there is almost none, and that is most of why people choose it.
What makes the difference long term?
Polyaspartic topcoats cure faster and hold color better under UV than standard epoxy clears. They also go down in a wider temperature window, which matters when you are working through a Mississippi summer.
