MMA Gym Epoxy that survives the room
Sweat under mats grows what you cannot see. A day on site is the normal answer for a residential floor.
Nothing living under the mats.
What we actually install
Sealed non-porous floor that dries and cleans.
We open up the surface and see what we are actually dealing with. Mats lifted and washed, bare feet.

What the install actually looks like
The floor tells us what it needs before we quote anything.
Concrete varies street to street around here, so we check. We turn up with the grinder and the extraction first, and the first hour is dust and noise rather than anything that looks like progress. Sealed non-porous floor that dries and cleans.
Once the slab is open and clean we chase any cracks, fill them, and grind those flat. Then the primer goes down, and from that point the day is a sequence with cure windows in it rather than a job you can rush. One visit, one day, then 48 hours before the car goes back on.
Kevin built the company in 2021 around doing the work they promised. The crew has not changed. That matters on a mma gym epoxy job because the person who decided the spec is the person holding the squeegee, so nothing gets lost between the quote and the floor.
Aaron and his crew did a fantastic job, friendly and professional.Verified review
Other fitness floors we coat
The slab decides the spec.
What we find under a mma gym epoxy job
A slab poured in sections often has slight height differences at the seams. Those get ground flat rather than coated over, because a coating follows the shape it is laid on.

The system we specify
Where chemical exposure is specific, the resin is chosen against the actual list. Novolac epoxies handle acids that standard epoxy does not.
Cure times are temperature dependent, and a garage in August behaves differently from the same garage in January. We schedule around it rather than pretending it does not matter.
Specified from the load, not a brochure.
Impact is a different problem from wear
Most floors are specified for abrasion, which is a slow surface problem. A gym floor has to survive impact, which is a sudden structural one. A dropped barbell delivers its whole energy into a few square inches, and a thin rigid coating over concrete will spall at that point no matter how hard the topcoat is.
The answer is build thickness in the drop zones and a topcoat with some flexibility rather than maximum hardness. Under matting the coating still matters, because sweat and cleaning water get under mats and sit there. A sealed non-porous floor under the mats is what stops that becoming a smell you cannot find the source of.

What we specify for training floors

What this floor has to put up with
Mats lifted and washed, bare feet. Sealed non-porous floor that dries and cleans. That combination is what we specify against, and it is why a mma gym epoxy job is quoted from the room rather than from a rate card.
Nothing living under the mats. You lose the garage for a day, not a week.
Living with the floor afterwards
Coated floors do not need to be stripped and resealed, which is where the savings against VCT actually come from.
Sand and grit tracked in should be swept up rather than left to grind under shoes and tires. Grit dulls a topcoat faster than anything else that happens to the floor.
Laurel is home, and from here we reach Hattiesburg, Jackson, the Gulf Coast, coastal Alabama and the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain comfortably. Coast jobs and Baldwin County work are a normal week for us. See the areas we cover.
Questions we get asked
Is mma gym epoxy a one day install?
A day on site is the normal answer for a residential floor.
How do you prepare the concrete?
Sealed non-porous floor that dries and cleans. Before anything is mixed we know what the floor is sitting on.
Is it tough enough for daily use?
Mats lifted and washed, bare feet. We specify the build thickness against the actual use, not a standard sheet.
Do you work outside Laurel?
We cover south Mississippi, the coast, coastal Alabama and St. Tammany Parish, roughly a hundred miles out from Laurel.
Who turns up on the day?
This company exists to be passed down, which changes how carefully you work.
Can I see the color before deciding?
Yes. We bring the chip deck out and you pick the blend against your own light and your own walls. Colors read differently under LED, under a skylight and under a garage door that is half open, so choosing off a photograph is how people end up disappointed.
What happens if the slab has problems?
Slabs around Laurel and down toward the coast are mostly 1970s to 1990s pours, and they were finished hard. A hard-troweled surface has almost no porosity left, which is why paint peels off it in sheets. Grinding opens that surface back up so resin can key into the concrete instead of sitting on top of it.
Is it hard to keep looking good?
A coated floor can be repaired in place. Damage gets ground back locally, rebuilt and blended, which is not possible with tile or with polished concrete.
What makes the system last?
Everything we install is a system that has been tested as a system. That is the practical value of working to a manufacturer spec instead of improvising.
