Gulf Coast concrete carries moisture. Slabs poured on sand without a vapour barrier wick water up through the mix continuously, and that vapour pressure is what lifts a coating months after it looked perfect. We test for it before quoting, because the honest answer sometimes is a moisture-tolerant system rather than standard epoxy.
What a Gulf Hills job usually involves
Where a garage has been used as a workshop there is usually oil worked deep into the pores in one or two spots. Surface cleaning does not reach it. We grind it out and prime over what is left.

Driveway aprons are worth mentioning because they are a separate pour from the garage slab and they move independently. The transition between them gets detailed deliberately rather than coated straight across.
Sheds and outbuildings on slab are worth coating if they are being used for anything beyond storage. Unsealed concrete in an outbuilding is the dustiest floor most people own.

Power troweled warehouse floors are the hardest substrate we deal with. The surface is dense, sealed by the process itself, and needs aggressive metal-bond diamonds before anything will stick.
We install Duraflex systems. The certification matters less than what it means in practice, which is that the product data is real, the cure windows are tested, and there is a manufacturer standing behind the spec rather than a generic resin bought on price.
Living with it afterwards
Do not drag steel across it. Lift it, or put something under it.
Rubber mats left permanently on a coated floor can mark it. Not damage, but a visible outline. If you use mats, move them occasionally.

Commercial work around Gulf Hills
New construction is the opposite problem. The slab is clean but green, and coating concrete before it has cured traps water under the film. We would rather push the date than come back to blisters.
Detached shops and workshops are common on the bigger lots, and those slabs are a different job. They are often unsealed, frequently damp because there is no vapour barrier underneath, and they have usually had something spilled on them. Moisture testing decides the system.

Why the prep matters more than the colour
Slabs around Laurel and down toward the coast are mostly 1970s to 1990s pours, and they were finished hard. A hard-troweled surface has almost no porosity left, which is why paint peels off it in sheets. Grinding opens that surface back up so resin can key into the concrete instead of sitting on top of it.
Some floors do not need coating at all. If the slab is sound and the use is light, polishing or sealing the concrete itself is cheaper and lasts longer. We will say so.
Moisture-tolerant primers exist for a reason and cost more for a reason. On a damp slab they are the difference between a floor and a warranty claim.
Grinding is most of the job.

How the day runs
No two slabs in Jones County behave the same way. We arrive with the grinder and the dust extraction, and the first stretch is noise and containment rather than anything that looks like progress. Getting the slab open and clean is what the rest of the day depends on.
Cracks get chased out and filled, high spots come down, and any old coating comes off rather than getting buried. Then the primer goes on and the day becomes a sequence with cure windows in it. Most of our residential installs are complete within a single working day.
Aaron, Kyler and Averie work with Kevin on every install. That is by design. Nothing gets lost between the quote and the floor because it is the same people doing both.
Hot tyre pickup is a failure mode of cheap coatings, not of a properly installed flake and polyaspartic build. You can park on it hot without lifting the finish. If you want to see blends first, the chip deck comes to you, and there are finished floors on the gallery page.
