What the install actually looks like
The slab sets the spec, not the brochure.
Moisture gets tested before resin gets opened. We turn up with the grinder and the extraction first, and the first hour is dust and noise rather than anything that looks like progress. Low-odor seamless build, cleanable, warm color.
Once the slab is open and clean we chase any cracks, fill them, and grind those flat. Then the primer goes down, and from that point the day is a sequence with cure windows in it rather than a job you can rush. Most houses are done inside a day, then 12 hours to foot traffic.
Kevin Garner set this up in 2021 for his family to carry on. That matters on a daycare epoxy job because the person who decided the spec is the person holding the squeegee, so nothing gets lost between the quote and the floor.

Other institutional floors we coat
The slab decides the spec.
What we find under a daycare epoxy job
A lot of the slabs we open up have been sealed at some point with an acrylic nobody remembers. It reads as clean concrete until the diamonds hit it and the surface loads up. That is a full mechanical removal, not a light scuff, and it changes the day.

The system we specify
Full flake broadcast means chip thrown to refusal, so the floor is a continuous layer of vinyl rather than a base coat with decoration on it. That is what gives the texture its grip and what stops the color wearing through.
The chip blend changes how a floor hides dirt. Multi-tone blends with some dark in them stay looking clean far longer than a single pale color.
Specified from the load, not a brochure.
Working around the people who use the building
Schools, churches and community buildings have hard calendars. A school floor goes down in the holidays or it does not go down. A church hall is booked most evenings. The install has to fit the calendar, which usually means fast-cure materials and working in defined sections rather than closing the building.
The use pattern is also unusual. These floors see very heavy traffic in short bursts and then nothing, and they get cleaned by people who are not professional cleaners. That argues for a forgiving finish with a texture that hides scuffing and a maintenance routine that is genuinely just a mop.
You lose the garage for a day, not a week.
What we plan around
Low VOC and safe for crawling children.
What this floor has to put up with
Toys, spills and constant cleaning. Low-odor seamless build, cleanable, warm color. That combination is what we specify against, and it is why a daycare epoxy job is quoted from the room rather than from a rate card.
Low odor and safe underfoot. A standard install is one day of work and two days of patience.
Living with the floor afterwards
Do not use degreasers with high pH on a regular basis. They will dull a clear coat over time. Neutral cleaner and water handles almost everything.
Furniture and jack stands want pads under them. Point loads with sharp edges are the realistic way a residential floor gets damaged.
The service area runs from Jones County out to the coast and along it. Gulfport, Biloxi, Ocean Springs and Pascagoula in Mississippi, Gulf Shores and Foley in Alabama, Covington and Slidell in Louisiana. See the areas we cover.
Questions we get asked
What is the turnaround on daycare epoxy?
One day on site for most homes. Full cure for vehicles is 48 hours.
What does the first stage involve?
Low-odor seamless build, cleanable, warm color. What goes wrong with coatings almost always goes wrong underneath them.
Will it hold up long term?
Toys, spills and constant cleaning. We specify the build thickness against the actual use, not a standard sheet.
Do you cover the whole Gulf Coast?
We cover south Mississippi, the coast, coastal Alabama and St. Tammany Parish, roughly a hundred miles out from Laurel.
Is the owner on site?
Started 2021, family owned, and the people on your floor are the people who own it.
Can I see the color before deciding?
Yes. We bring the chip deck out and you pick the blend against your own light and your own walls. Colors read differently under LED, under a skylight and under a garage door that is half open, so choosing off a photograph is how people end up disappointed.
How do you deal with a poor slab?
Slabs with in-floor heat or embedded conduit change how aggressively we can grind. We locate it first rather than finding it with a diamond.
What upkeep is involved?
Snow and road salt tracked in should be rinsed off rather than left to dry. Salt is more aggressive to the concrete than to the coating.
Why specify a full system?
Metallic pigment is moved by hand while the resin is still open, so no two floors are the same. That is the appeal and it also means the installer matters more than the product.
