Floors we coat around Jackson
Rural southwest Alabama, residential and light commercial.
Exterior concrete has UV and thermal cycling on top of everything else. Materials that are fine indoors amber and chalk outside, so exterior work gets a UV-stable topcoat as standard.
What a Jackson job usually involves
Sheds and outbuildings on slab are worth coating if they are being used for anything beyond storage. Unsealed concrete in an outbuilding is the dustiest floor most people own.
One day down for most homes. Commercial work is phased to your hours.
Garages here tend to be attached, which changes two things. The dust has somewhere to go, so containment matters more, and the slab usually shares a pour with the house foundation, so movement is less of a problem than on a detached shop.
The honest answer for most homes in this area is that it is a one day job on a sound slab, and the only thing that changes that is what we find when we start grinding.
The slab decides the spec.
Before we quote anything
Salt is the quiet problem on coast jobs. It comes in on tires, soaks into unsealed concrete, and sits there pushing back out. Grinding removes the loaded surface layer so the new floor is not fighting it from day one.
Dark floors show dust and light floors show tire marks. There is no color that hides everything, and we would rather say that than sell a finish that disappoints.
Living with it afterwards
Coated floors do not need to be stripped and resealed, which is where the savings against VCT actually come from.
The honest maintenance answer is that there is almost none, and that is most of why people choose it.

Commercial work around Jackson
A lot of the calls we take start with somebody having tried a big-box garage floor kit. Those sit on top of sealed concrete and peel, and the removal is more work than the original job would have been.
Where a property has been rented out the slab has usually had a harder life than the owner realises. We would rather look at it than quote off a description.
The full roster runs to seventy five different rooms, from garages through to food plants and clean rooms. It is all on the services page.
Why the prep matters more than the color
Some floors do not need coating at all. If the slab is sound and the use is light, polishing or sealing the concrete itself is cheaper and lasts longer. We will say so.
A slab that has been acid etched instead of ground has an inconsistent profile. Some areas take the coating and some do not, and you cannot tell which until it fails. We grind regardless of what was done before.
Slip resistance comes from profile, not from an additive stirred in at the end. Where a floor will be wet we build the texture in with graded aggregate and we tell you how it will feel underfoot.
Grinding is most of the job.

How the day runs
Moisture gets tested before resin gets opened. We arrive with the grinder and the dust extraction, and the first stretch is noise and containment rather than anything that looks like progress. Getting the slab open and clean is what the rest of the day depends on.
Cracks get chased out and filled, high spots come down, and any old coating comes off rather than getting buried. Then the primer goes on and the day becomes a sequence with cure windows in it. A day on site is the normal answer for a residential floor.
Kevin founded ICM Coating Masters in 2021 and still runs jobs himself. Nothing gets lost between the quote and the floor because it is the same people doing both.
Pressure washing exterior coated concrete is fine at sensible pressure. Holding a turbo nozzle in one place is not. If you want to see blends first, the chip deck comes to you, and there are finished floors on the gallery page.
Jackson questions
Do you cover Jackson?
Yes. We are based in Laurel and Jackson is inside our normal working radius.
How long does a garage take?
One day, one crew, then cure time does the rest.
What is the slab likely to need?
Rural southwest Alabama, residential and light commercial. New pours need to cure before they are coated, and the wait is longer than most people expect. Coating green concrete traps water under the film. We would rather push the date than come back to a blistered floor.
Can you match a color?
Yes. The chip deck comes to you so you choose against your own light.
Do you do commercial work here?
Yes. Shops, kitchens, clinics and warehouses across Clarke County.
