What the install actually looks like
No two slabs in Jones County behave the same way.
We look at the concrete first and the color chart second. We turn up with the grinder and the extraction first, and the first hour is dust and noise rather than anything that looks like progress. Durable multi-use build with grip.
Once the slab is open and clean we chase any cracks, fill them, and grind those flat. Then the primer goes down, and from that point the day is a sequence with cure windows in it rather than a job you can rush. The whole system goes down in one visit on most homes.
The crew is family. That is why the quote and the finished floor match. That matters on a community center epoxy job because the person who decided the spec is the person holding the squeegee, so nothing gets lost between the quote and the floor.
Used a lot of flooring companies over the years on various jobs and lemme tell you you’re in good hands with these guys. From the quote to the finished job they were nothing short of professional.Verified review

The slab decides the spec.
What we find under a community center epoxy job
Slabs around Laurel and down toward the coast are mostly 1970s to 1990s pours, and they were finished hard. A hard-troweled surface has almost no porosity left, which is why paint peels off it in sheets. Grinding opens that surface back up so resin can key into the concrete instead of sitting on top of it.
Moisture, contamination and surface profile are the three things that decide whether a floor lasts. Color is the easy part and the only part most people ask about.
The system we specify
We install Duraflex systems. The certification matters less than what it means in practice, which is that the product data is real, the cure windows are tested, and there is a manufacturer standing behind the spec rather than a generic resin bought on price.
Metallic pigment is moved by hand while the resin is still open, so no two floors are the same. That is the appeal and it also means the installer matters more than the product.
Specified from the load, not a brochure.
Working around the people who use the building
Schools, churches and community buildings have hard calendars. A school floor goes down in the holidays or it does not go down. A church hall is booked most evenings. The install has to fit the calendar, which usually means fast-cure materials and working in defined sections rather than closing the building.
The use pattern is also unusual. These floors see very heavy traffic in short bursts and then nothing, and they get cleaned by people who are not professional cleaners. That argues for a forgiving finish with a texture that hides scuffing and a maintenance routine that is genuinely just a mop.
Grind in the morning, coat in the afternoon, walk on it that night.
What we plan around
Different use every night of the week.
What this floor has to put up with
Sport, catering and events on one floor. Durable multi-use build with grip. That combination is what we specify against, and it is why a community center epoxy job is quoted from the room rather than from a rate card.
Handles whatever is booked in. Single day install is standard here. The waiting afterwards is just cure time.
Living with the floor afterwards
Maintenance is a dust mop and occasionally a neutral cleaner. No wax, no sealing, no annual reapplication. If someone tells you a coated floor needs yearly maintenance, they are describing their own product failing.
Keep grit off it and a coated floor lasts. Grit under a tire or a boot is abrasive, and abrasion is the only thing that genuinely wears a good topcoat.
We work out of Laurel and cover roughly a hundred miles in every direction. That takes in Jones County, Rankin, Simpson and Lamar to the north and west, the whole Mississippi coast from Bay St. Louis through Biloxi to Pascagoula, across into Baldwin and Mobile County in Alabama, and west to St. Tammany Parish. Questions we get asked
How long does a community center epoxy job take?
Most residential floors go down in a single day. Walk on it in 12 hours, move heavy things at 24, park on it at 48.
What preparation does community center epoxy need?
Durable multi-use build with grip. A coating is only as good as the grind under it.
Can it take the wear this room gets?
Sport, catering and events on one floor. We specify the build thickness against the actual use, not a standard sheet.
Which areas do you cover?
We cover south Mississippi, the coast, coastal Alabama and St. Tammany Parish, roughly a hundred miles out from Laurel.
Is it your own crew?
Kevin Garner started this in 2021 to build something the family could keep. Aaron, Kyler and Averie run the jobs with him.
Can I see the color before deciding?
Yes. We bring the chip deck out and you pick the blend against your own light and your own walls. Colors read differently under LED, under a skylight and under a garage door that is half open, so choosing off a photograph is how people end up disappointed.
What do you find under a floor like this?
Older residential slabs in Jones County often have a soft top layer from being finished too wet. It looks solid and crumbles under a grinder. If we find that, the fix is grinding past it to sound concrete rather than coating over a layer that is already failing.
What maintenance does it need?
If a crack appears in the slab years later, that is the concrete moving, not the coating failing. It can be chased and repaired without redoing the floor.
What am I paying for in the build?
Quartz systems are built in layers, broadcast and troweled rather than rolled. It is slower to install and it is the toughest, grippiest thing we lay.
