Cold Storage Epoxy that survives the room
Coatings fail when applied or used cold. One day install, 12 hours to walk, 48 to drive.
Cures and performs below freezing.
What we actually install
Low-temperature system installed in the cold.
Moisture gets tested before resin gets opened. Freeze-thaw, pallet traffic and condensation.

What the install actually looks like
Concrete varies street to street around here, so we check.
Moisture gets tested before resin gets opened. We turn up with the grinder and the extraction first, and the first hour is dust and noise rather than anything that looks like progress. Low-temperature system installed in the cold.
Once the slab is open and clean we chase any cracks, fill them, and grind those flat. Then the primer goes down, and from that point the day is a sequence with cure windows in it rather than a job you can rush. A typical garage is a one day install. You are walking on it that evening.
Kevin started it in 2021. Five years on it is still the same four people. That matters on a cold storage epoxy job because the person who decided the spec is the person holding the squeegee, so nothing gets lost between the quote and the floor.

Other industrial floors we coat
The slab decides the spec.
What we find under a cold storage epoxy job
Basement and below-grade slabs are damp by default. A coating that works in a garage will not necessarily hold down there, so those rooms get a system chosen for moisture rather than for looks.
Concrete keeps moving for years after it is poured, and it moves more near the coast where the ground is wet and sandy. That is why we detail edges and joints rather than laying one continuous rigid sheet and hoping.
The system we specify
Cure times are temperature dependent, and a garage in August behaves differently from the same garage in January. We schedule around it rather than pretending it does not matter.
The chip blend changes how a floor hides dirt. Multi-tone blends with some dark in them stay looking clean far longer than a single pale colour.
Specified from the load, not a brochure.
Load, chemistry and temperature decide everything
An industrial floor is specified from three numbers: the heaviest point load it will carry, the chemicals it will contact, and the temperature range it will cycle through. Get those right and the floor is straightforward. Guess at them and you get a floor that looks correct and fails in the one area that mattered.
Thermal shock is the one most often missed. A slab that gets hosed with hot water and then sits cold expands and contracts against a rigid coating until the bond gives up. Cementitious urethane handles that because it moves with the concrete. Standard epoxy does not, regardless of how thick it is laid.
One day on site for most homes. Full cure for vehicles is 48 hours.
What we need to know before specifying
Coatings fail when applied or used cold.
What this floor has to put up with
Freeze-thaw, pallet traffic and condensation. Low-temperature system installed in the cold. That combination is what we specify against, and it is why a cold storage epoxy job is quoted from the room rather than from a rate card.
Cures and performs below freezing. A day on site is the normal answer for a residential floor.
Living with the floor afterwards
Do not drag steel across it. Lift it, or put something under it.
Maintenance is a dust mop and occasionally a neutral cleaner. No wax, no sealing, no annual reapplication. If someone tells you a coated floor needs yearly maintenance, they are describing their own product failing.
From Laurel we cover south Mississippi, the coast, coastal Alabama and St. Tammany Parish. If you are inside about a hundred miles, we will come and look at the slab. See the areas we cover.
Questions we get asked
How long will my floor be out of use?
One day install, 12 hours to walk, 48 to drive.
What happens to the slab before you coat it?
Low-temperature system installed in the cold. Good floors are decided during prep, not during the pour.
Will it stand up to the traffic here?
Freeze-thaw, pallet traffic and condensation. We specify the build thickness against the actual use, not a standard sheet.
Do you come out to the coast?
Yes. We cover south Mississippi, the coast, coastal Alabama and St. Tammany Parish, roughly a hundred miles out from Laurel.
Do you use subcontractors?
Kevin Garner founded ICM in 2021 wanting work he could hand down. Aaron, Kyler and Averie make that possible.
Can I see the colour before deciding?
Yes. We bring the chip deck out and you pick the blend against your own light and your own walls. Colours read differently under LED, under a skylight and under a garage door that is half open, so choosing off a photograph is how people end up disappointed.
Is an old slab a problem?
Garage aprons and interior slabs are usually separate pours at different times, and they move independently. The transition between them gets detailed deliberately so the coating does not split along that line.
How do I look after it?
Do not drag steel across it. Lift it, or put something under it.
Why not just use floor paint?
Cementitious urethane costs more than epoxy and outlives it in any wet or thermally cycled room. In a brewery or a food plant it is not an upgrade, it is the correct product.
