Barbershop Epoxy that survives the room
Hair, water and chair wear. We are in and out in a day on most garages, then the floor cures.

What we actually install
Seamless floor that sweeps clean.
Good floors are decided during prep, not during the pour. Chairs rotating, water and clippings.

What the install actually looks like
A coating is only as good as the grind under it.
Every job starts the same way, with the slab itself. We turn up with the grinder and the extraction first, and the first hour is dust and noise rather than anything that looks like progress. Seamless floor that sweeps clean.
Once the slab is open and clean we chase any cracks, fill them, and grind those flat. Then the primer goes down, and from that point the day is a sequence with cure windows in it rather than a job you can rush. One day down for most homes. Commercial work is phased to your hours.
Family run out of Laurel since 2021, Duraflex certified. That matters on a barbershop epoxy job because the person who decided the spec is the person holding the squeegee, so nothing gets lost between the quote and the floor.

The slab decides the spec.
What we find under a barbershop epoxy job
A slab that has been acid etched instead of ground has an inconsistent profile. Some areas take the coating and some do not, and you cannot tell which until it fails. We grind regardless of what was done before.

The system we specify
Moisture-tolerant primers exist for a reason and cost more for a reason. On a damp slab they are the difference between a floor and a warranty claim.
Epoxy is the body of the system and polyaspartic is the armour. The epoxy bonds and builds thickness, the topcoat takes the abrasion and the UV. Using one without the other is where most cheap floors go wrong.
Specified from the load, not a brochure.
Small floors, specific problems
A small commercial floor is not a scaled down warehouse. The problems are concentrated. One wet area, one chair that rotates in the same spot every day, one chemical that gets spilled constantly. Specifying the whole room for the worst square meter is usually cheaper than specifying it for the average and repairing the worst part later.
The other reality is that these rooms cannot close. A barbershop or a salon loses its income the day it shuts. That pushes the work to a single overnight or weekend install with a fast-cure system, which is entirely doable as long as it is planned that way from the start rather than discovered halfway through.
A day on site is the normal answer for a residential floor.
How we handle small commercial work
Hair, water and chair wear.
What this floor has to put up with
Chairs rotating, water and clippings. Seamless floor that sweeps clean. That combination is what we specify against, and it is why a barbershop epoxy job is quoted from the room rather than from a rate card.
Sweeps out in one pass. Grind in the morning, coat in the afternoon, walk on it that night.
Living with the floor afterwards
Pressure washing exterior coated concrete is fine at sensible pressure. Holding a turbo nozzle in one place is not.
Rubber mats left permanently on a coated floor can mark it. Not damage, but a visible outline. If you use mats, move them occasionally.
We work out of Laurel and cover roughly a hundred miles in every direction. That takes in Jones County, Rankin, Simpson and Lamar to the north and west, the whole Mississippi coast from Bay St. Louis through Biloxi to Pascagoula, across into Baldwin and Mobile County in Alabama, and west to St. Tammany Parish. See the areas we cover.
Questions we get asked
How long before we can use the room again?
We are in and out in a day on most garages, then the floor cures.
How much of the job is preparation?
Seamless floor that sweeps clean. We start by finding the cracks nobody mentioned.
How durable is it in practice?
Chairs rotating, water and clippings. We specify the build thickness against the actual use, not a standard sheet.
Are you working in Alabama and Louisiana too?
We cover south Mississippi, the coast, coastal Alabama and St. Tammany Parish, roughly a hundred miles out from Laurel.
Who runs the job?
Kevin Garner set this up in 2021 for his family to carry on.
Can I see the color before deciding?
Yes. We bring the chip deck out and you pick the blend against your own light and your own walls. Colors read differently under LED, under a skylight and under a garage door that is half open, so choosing off a photograph is how people end up disappointed.
What if there is already a coating on it?
Slabs around Laurel and down toward the coast are mostly 1970s to 1990s pours, and they were finished hard. A hard-troweled surface has almost no porosity left, which is why paint peels off it in sheets. Grinding opens that surface back up so resin can key into the concrete instead of sitting on top of it.
What should I avoid doing to it?
Rubber mats left permanently on a coated floor can mark it. Not damage, but a visible outline. If you use mats, move them occasionally.
What makes the difference long term?
Polyaspartic topcoats cure faster and hold color better under UV than standard epoxy clears. They also go down in a wider temperature window, which matters when you are working through a Mississippi summer.
