Kiln floor coatings, done in a day
Coastal, largely rebuilt in the last twenty years, and everything here is specified with salt air and humidity in mind. Single day install is standard here. The waiting afterwards is just cure time.

Floors we coat around Kiln
Coastal, largely rebuilt in the last twenty years, and everything here is specified with salt air and humidity in mind.
New pours need to cure before they are coated, and the wait is longer than most people expect. Coating green concrete traps water under the film. We would rather push the date than come back to a blistered floor.
What a Kiln job usually involves
Storage rooms, laundry rooms and utility spaces come up often enough to mention. Small floors, quick installs, and usually the same system as a garage at a smaller scale.
One visit, one day, then 48 hours before the car goes back on.
Older neighborhoods mean older slabs, and older slabs mean previous coatings. Finding out what is already on the floor is the first thing we do, because removing an old acrylic changes the length of the job.
Commercial work in a town this size is usually small and specific. One wet room, one kitchen, one shop floor that has to be closed for the shortest possible time. Those jobs get planned around opening hours from the first conversation.
The slab decides the spec.
Before we quote anything
Commercial slabs that have been in service take oil deep into the pores. Surface degreasing does not reach it, and resin will not bond through it. We grind it out, and where contamination runs deep we prime with something built to tolerate it.
Slip resistance comes from profile, not from an additive stirred in at the end. Where a floor will be wet we build the texture in with graded aggregate and we tell you how it will feel underfoot.
Living with it afterwards
In a commercial kitchen the cleaning routine is the maintenance plan, and the floor is specified around the chemistry you already use.
Keep grit off it and a coated floor lasts. Grit under a tire or a boot is abrasive, and abrasion is the only thing that genuinely wears a good topcoat.

Commercial work around Kiln
We get asked about basements less here than on higher ground, but where there is one it is damp by default, and a coating that works in a garage will not necessarily hold down there.
Patios and porches are the other half of the residential work in this area. Exterior concrete goes gray, grows algae in the shade and turns slick when it rains, and a UV-stable textured coating solves all three at once.
The full roster runs to seventy five different rooms, from garages through to food plants and clean rooms. It is all on the services page.
Why the prep matters more than the color
Concrete keeps moving for years after it is poured, and it moves more near the coast where the ground is wet and sandy. That is why we detail edges and joints rather than laying one continuous rigid sheet and hoping.
Slabs around Laurel and down toward the coast are mostly 1970s to 1990s pours, and they were finished hard. A hard-troweled surface has almost no porosity left, which is why paint peels off it in sheets. Grinding opens that surface back up so resin can key into the concrete instead of sitting on top of it.
Dark floors show dust and light floors show tire marks. There is no color that hides everything, and we would rather say that than sell a finish that disappoints.
Grinding is most of the job.
Getting to you
We work out of Laurel and cover roughly a hundred miles in every direction. That takes in Jones County, Rankin, Simpson and Lamar to the north and west, the whole Mississippi coast from Bay St. Louis through Biloxi to Pascagoula, across into Baldwin and Mobile County in Alabama, and west to St. Tammany Parish.
Kiln sits in Hancock County. See the other towns we cover on the Hancock County page or the full service areas list.
Used a lot of flooring companies over the years on various jobs and lemme tell you you’re in good hands with these guys. From the quote to the finished job they were nothing short of professional.Verified review
How the day runs
The first hour on site is spent on the concrete, not the color. We arrive with the grinder and the dust extraction, and the first stretch is noise and containment rather than anything that looks like progress. Getting the slab open and clean is what the rest of the day depends on.
Cracks get chased out and filled, high spots come down, and any old coating comes off rather than getting buried. Then the primer goes on and the day becomes a sequence with cure windows in it. A standard install is one day of work and two days of patience.
Since 2021 this has been Kevin, Aaron, Kyler and Averie. No subcontractors sent in your place. Nothing gets lost between the quote and the floor because it is the same people doing both.
Furniture and jack stands want pads under them. Point loads with sharp edges are the realistic way a residential floor gets damaged. If you want to see blends first, the chip deck comes to you, and there are finished floors on the gallery page.
Kiln questions
Do you cover Kiln?
Yes. We are based in Laurel and Kiln is inside our normal working radius.
How long does a garage take?
We are in and out in a day on most garages, then the floor cures.
What is the slab likely to need?
Coastal, largely rebuilt in the last twenty years, and everything here is specified with salt air and humidity in mind. Exterior concrete has UV and thermal cycling on top of everything else. Materials that are fine indoors amber and chalk outside, so exterior work gets a UV-stable topcoat as standard.
Can you match a color?
Yes. The chip deck comes to you so you choose against your own light.
Do you do commercial work here?
Yes. Shops, kitchens, clinics and warehouses across Hancock County.
How do I get a quote?
Call 601-319-9619 and describe the room, or send the details and we will come look at the slab.
Get in touch and we will come measure it up.
Kevin built the company in 2021 around doing the work they promised. The crew has not changed. Covering Laurel and south Mississippi, the Gulf Coast, coastal Alabama and St. Tammany Parish. Send us the details or see finished floors.
