Dog Kennel Epoxy that survives the room
Urine soaks in and the smell never leaves. Most residential floors go down in a single day. Walk on it in 12 hours, move heavy things at 24, park on it at 48.
The smell goes because the floor stopped absorbing.
What we actually install
Non-porous coved build, ammonia resistant, to drains.
Every job starts the same way, with the slab itself. Hosing, claws and constant wet.

Cure
One day, one crew, then cure time does the rest.
What the install actually looks like
No two slabs in Jones County behave the same way.
Good floors are decided during prep, not during the pour. We turn up with the grinder and the extraction first, and the first hour is dust and noise rather than anything that looks like progress. Non-porous coved build, ammonia resistant, to drains.
Once the slab is open and clean we chase any cracks, fill them, and grind those flat. Then the primer goes down, and from that point the day is a sequence with cure windows in it rather than a job you can rush. You lose the garage for a day, not a week.
Family run out of Laurel since 2021, Duraflex certified. That matters on a dog kennel epoxy job because the person who decided the spec is the person holding the squeegee, so nothing gets lost between the quote and the floor.
Choosing somebody to do our Floors was a hard decision but I am so happy we picked ICM coating masters. The results are beautiful and The time and effort put into the work was amazing.Verified review
Other trades floors we coat
The slab decides the spec.
What we find under a dog kennel epoxy job
Slabs around Laurel and down toward the coast are mostly 1970s to 1990s pours, and they were finished hard. A hard-troweled surface has almost no porosity left, which is why paint peels off it in sheets. Grinding opens that surface back up so resin can key into the concrete instead of sitting on top of it.
New pours need to cure before they are coated, and the wait is longer than most people expect. Coating green concrete traps water under the film. We would rather push the date than come back to a blistered floor.
The system we specify
We install Duraflex systems. The certification matters less than what it means in practice, which is that the product data is real, the cure windows are tested, and there is a manufacturer standing behind the spec rather than a generic resin bought on price.
Clear topcoats are not all clear. Some amber noticeably within a year indoors under LED light. We use ones that do not.
Specified from the load, not a brochure.
Small floors, specific problems
A small commercial floor is not a scaled down warehouse. The problems are concentrated. One wet area, one chair that rotates in the same spot every day, one chemical that gets spilled constantly. Specifying the whole room for the worst square meter is usually cheaper than specifying it for the average and repairing the worst part later.
The other reality is that these rooms cannot close. A barbershop or a salon loses its income the day it shuts. That pushes the work to a single overnight or weekend install with a fast-cure system, which is entirely doable as long as it is planned that way from the start rather than discovered halfway through.
Most houses are done inside a day, then 12 hours to foot traffic.
How we handle small commercial work
Urine soaks in and the smell never leaves.
What this floor has to put up with
Hosing, claws and constant wet. Non-porous coved build, ammonia resistant, to drains. That combination is what we specify against, and it is why a dog kennel epoxy job is quoted from the room rather than from a rate card.
The smell goes because the floor stopped absorbing. Most houses are done inside a day, then 12 hours to foot traffic.
Living with the floor afterwards
Maintenance is a dust mop and occasionally a neutral cleaner. No wax, no sealing, no annual reapplication. If someone tells you a coated floor needs yearly maintenance, they are describing their own product failing.
Rubber mats left permanently on a coated floor can mark it. Not damage, but a visible outline. If you use mats, move them occasionally.
We work out of Laurel and cover roughly a hundred miles in every direction. That takes in Jones County, Rankin, Simpson and Lamar to the north and west, the whole Mississippi coast from Bay St. Louis through Biloxi to Pascagoula, across into Baldwin and Mobile County in Alabama, and west to St. Tammany Parish. Questions we get asked
Is dog kennel epoxy a one day install?
Most residential floors go down in a single day. Walk on it in 12 hours, move heavy things at 24, park on it at 48.
How do you prepare the concrete?
Non-porous coved build, ammonia resistant, to drains. Good floors are decided during prep, not during the pour.
Is it tough enough for daily use?
Hosing, claws and constant wet. We specify the build thickness against the actual use, not a standard sheet.
Do you work outside Laurel?
We cover south Mississippi, the coast, coastal Alabama and St. Tammany Parish, roughly a hundred miles out from Laurel.
Who turns up on the day?
Kevin Garner founded ICM in 2021 wanting work he could hand down. Aaron, Kyler and Averie make that possible.
Can I see the color before deciding?
Yes. We bring the chip deck out and you pick the blend against your own light and your own walls. Colors read differently under LED, under a skylight and under a garage door that is half open, so choosing off a photograph is how people end up disappointed.
What happens if the slab has problems?
Slabs around Laurel and down toward the coast are mostly 1970s to 1990s pours, and they were finished hard. A hard-troweled surface has almost no porosity left, which is why paint peels off it in sheets. Grinding opens that surface back up so resin can key into the concrete instead of sitting on top of it.
Is it hard to keep looking good?
The honest maintenance answer is that there is almost none, and that is most of why people choose it.
What makes the system last?
Pigments are not all equally stable. Reds and yellows fade fastest under UV, so exterior work uses pigments chosen for it rather than the same colors we would use in a closed garage.
