Attala County floor coatings
Rural central Mississippi, north of the metro. We are in and out in a day on most garages, then the floor cures.

What we install here
Older residential slabs in Jones County often have a soft top layer from being finished too wet. It looks solid and crumbles under a grinder. If we find that, the fix is grinding past it to sound concrete rather than coating over a layer that is already failing.
Slip resistance comes from profile, not from an additive stirred in at the end. Where a floor will be wet we build the texture in with graded aggregate and we tell you how it will feel underfoot.
Epoxy is the body of the system and polyaspartic is the armour. The epoxy bonds and builds thickness, the topcoat takes the abrasion and the UV. Using one without the other is where most cheap floors go wrong.
The systems people ask about most
Full flake
Full flake broadcast means chip thrown to refusal, so the floor is a continuous layer of vinyl rather than a base coat with decoration on it. That is what gives the texture its grip and what stops the color wearing through. More on full flake.
Metallic
Metallic pigment is moved by hand while the resin is still open, so no two floors are the same. That is the appeal and it also means the installer matters more than the product. More on metallic.
Polished concrete
Polished concrete uses a densifier that reacts chemically with the slab, hardening it rather than coating it. There is nothing to peel because there is no film. More on polished concrete.
Moisture, contamination and surface profile are the three things that decide whether a floor lasts. Color is the easy part and the only part most people ask about.
A coated floor can be repaired in place. Damage gets ground back locally, rebuilt and blended, which is not possible with tile or with polished concrete.
Garages here tend to be attached, which changes two things. The dust has somewhere to go, so containment matters more, and the slab usually shares a pour with the house foundation, so movement is less of a problem than on a detached shop.
What Attala County jobs usually involve
Driveway aprons are worth mentioning because they are a separate pour from the garage slab and they move independently. The transition between them gets detailed deliberately rather than coated straight across.
Most residential floors go down in a single day. Walk on it in 12 hours, move heavy things at 24, park on it at 48.
Where a garage has been used as a workshop there is usually oil worked deep into the pores in one or two spots. Surface cleaning does not reach it. We grind it out and prime over what is left.
Commercial work in a town this size is usually small and specific. One wet room, one kitchen, one shop floor that has to be closed for the shortest possible time. Those jobs get planned around opening hours from the first conversation.
Living with the floor
The honest maintenance answer is that there is almost none, and that is most of why people choose it.
Coated floors do not need to be stripped and resealed, which is where the savings against VCT actually come from.

Commercial and industrial work in Attala County
Pool surrounds are seasonal work here. The concrete gets hot underfoot and slick when wet, and a textured coating with a cooler pigment fixes both.
We see a lot of two-car garages where only half the floor has ever been parked on, and the wear pattern is obvious once the grinder starts. That does not change the spec, but it does explain why one side looks worse.
We install Duraflex systems. The certification matters less than what it means in practice, which is that the product data is real, the cure windows are tested, and there is a manufacturer standing behind the spec rather than a generic resin bought on price.
Where we are coming from
The service area runs from Jones County out to the coast and along it. Gulfport, Biloxi, Ocean Springs and Pascagoula in Mississippi, Gulf Shores and Foley in Alabama, Covington and Slidell in Louisiana.
Full list on the service areas page.
How the day runs
We open up the surface and see what we are actually dealing with. The grinder and the extraction come in first, and the opening stretch of any job is dust control rather than visible progress.
Once the slab is open we chase the cracks, take down the high spots and remove whatever was on the floor before. We grind, coat and topcoat in one visit on most residential jobs.
This is a family crew. Kevin founded it in 2021 and works alongside Aaron, Kyler and Averie.
Do not use degreasers with high pH on a regular basis. They will dull a clear coat over time. Neutral cleaner and water handles almost everything. Blends are on the finishes page and finished work is in the gallery.
Attala County questions
Which towns in Attala County do you cover?
All of them. Sand Hill.
How far will you travel?
We work out of Laurel and cover roughly a hundred miles in every direction. That takes in Jones County, Rankin, Simpson and Lamar to the north and west, the whole Mississippi coast from Bay St. Louis through Biloxi to Pascagoula, across into Baldwin and Mobile County in Alabama, and west to St. Tammany Parish.
Residential and commercial?
Both. Garages and patios through to kitchens, warehouses and clinics.
How long does an install take?
One day down for most homes. Commercial work is phased to your hours.
What about the slab condition?
A slab that has been acid etched instead of ground has an inconsistent profile. Some areas take the coating and some do not, and you cannot tell which until it fails. We grind regardless of what was done before.
How do I start?
Call 601-319-9619 or send the details and we will come look.
Talk it through with the people who will do the work.
Kevin started it in 2021. Five years on it is still the same four people. Covering Laurel and south Mississippi, the Gulf Coast, coastal Alabama and St. Tammany Parish. Send us the details or see finished floors.
